Last date for dispatch of Admit Cards by the respective IIT/IISc -10.2.1983

G A T E 1983  Exam- 26.2.1983

Publication of Results of GATE 1983- 15.4.1983

Who conduct the GATE?

The GATE is being organized by selected one of eight institutes from IISc Bengaluru and seven IITs (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee), on behalf of the National Coordination Board - GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering divided into two sections, one is General Aptitude (GA) and candidate selected subjects such as Civil Engineering (CE), Computer Science and Information Technology (CS), Electrical Engineering (EE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (EC), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Metallurgical  Engineering (MT), Mining Engineering (MN), Petroleum Engineering (PE) etc.

In the year of 2022 two new subject was introduce i.e. Geomatics Engineering (GE) and Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (NM).

What are the benefits through GATE?

There are several benefits of qualifying the GATE Examination in Geomatics Engineering (GE)-

  • It provides secure admission to Masters program in Remote Sensing and GIS, Geoinformatics, Geomatics, Geospatial Science, Geoscience like M.Tech, M.E, M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs in different IITs, NITs and Universities.
  • It gives opportunities for employment in top most multi national companies in the field of Geoinformatics.
  • Also provides an excellent opportunity to apply for different scientific and technical positions in government organizations such as DRDO, BARC, ISRO, and others.
  • It offering Teaching Positions Following the GATE Exam in academic sector.
  • Higher chances of studying for a Master’s degree abroad.
